Ice fairy dancing;
leaf's shadow shivers on a
paisley-frosted pane

Unseen needles bite
my cheek; air so thin and crisp
a breath can crack it.

Flurries brush the dry
hydrangea; snowball nodding
on a withered stem.

Curves like a slender
gecko; ivy shoots creep up
the telephone pole.

Finely spun rainbow;
a web of shattered light glints
outside my window.

Pink lips peeking through
emerald veils; the peony
prepares to blossom.

Proud young clouds show off
apricot-colored peach fuzz
in the setting sun.

Seafoam green buoys
keep the kelp forest afloat;
budding wax myrtle.

Clear sky, chilly air,
gold light, bird song everywhere;
earth begins to breathe.

Orange ink smears the sky;
pink tentacles slowly flee
toward the purple east.

Cold soil shoved aside;
restless daffodils turning
in their winter dreams.

Hoarfrost creeps across
the lawn; clouds settled on a
sea of shattered grass.

The white lady shines
inviolate, seated on
her virgin berth.

Mist obscures the third
streetlight; the end of the world
waits outside my gait.

My shadow wears a
black halo; fog refracts what
light can wrap my frame.

Lone yellow jacket,
the warm days have passed; go rest
with all your sisters.

Drunk with recent rain,
rose hips congenially
bob their messy heads.

Late-blooming berries
blush self-consciously among
the thinning brambles.

The tip of the moon's
white fingernail wipes the sky
clear of dusty clouds.

Jagged white fangs of
a frozen Hurricane rip
through blood-coated clouds.
